The task of exhaustion from welding workplaces is smoke exhaust from a welding area and from worker's breathing zone.

Trapping of welding fumes is going on:
a) By using exhaust, positioning arms. Various lengths 3-9 m.
b) Suitably shaped exhaust devices, slotted fans, covers etc. We produce the devices to measure according to actual requirements of a particular application.

Central extraction piping:
- It connects all extraction sites with one central extraction and filtration unit.
- Correct dimensioning of piping system ensures - equal distribution of extraction power.
- An automatic flushing of pipes with max.extraction power serves to prevent creation of deposits in pipes.
- All necessary components for assembly are parts of extraction piping, i.e. flanges, valves, clamps, brackets, columns.
- We produce piping components in spiro version or welded class 11.

Upcast pipes:
- An exhalation of clean, filtered air is brought back into a hall in winter season. In summer it is exhausted outside a building. So-called winter/summer operation.
- Air mass is exhausted into the hall through a HAFI PES sleeve ensuring its draught-free spreading in the hall.
- Return of clean, filtered air back in the hall brings considerable savings of heating energy.

Extraction and filtration equipment:
- For extraction of welding fumes we recommend central extraction and filtration equipment of our production of CARM GH type.
- We set extraction power according to particular requirements, i.e. central filtration unit is designed "to measure".
- Filtration medium are filter bags with guaranteed lifetime of 18 000-20 000 operating hours.
- Extraction output will be constant throughout filter media lifetime, without manual re-treatment.
- Regeneration of the filtration medium is performed by counter-flow of pressure air during filtration system operation (JET SYSTEM).
- A fan is placed in a noise silencer (max 72dBa).
- Extraction power control is solved by using a frequency converter regulating fan speed depending on the number of actively used sites.

The system of dust exhaustion out of the filtration device:
- It serves for dust exhaustion, incl. possible source of ignition in the filtration device (sparks, hot balls) outside the filter.
- A spark that flies into the filtration device is, by using knocking-over bars, diverted directly to a material discharge.
- There is pneumatic transport of dust connected to the material discharge, it conducts dust into a cyclone separator in a closed circuit.
- Dusts are separated in a centrifugal separator and they are conducted through a fire damper in a collecting container.
- In case of ignition in the collecting container, a contact on the fire damper is melted and then damper closes itself and prevents fire from spreading - fire damage minimizing.
- The system serves as a protection against ignition of the filter from the collecting container.

Extraction power control:
a) automatic control of extraction power based on underpressure - manual opening/closing of flaps
b) automatic control of extraction power based on an impulse from the machine.
- It uses: welding sensors, automatic flaps, frequency converter and control system.
- Each site can be fitted with an automatic flap, which is connected to a welding apparatus and control system by electric coupling, controlling the frequency converter.
- At the moment when a worker starts welding, the sensor reacts, the flap is opened and the frequency converter will increase extraction power.
- After finishing of welding, the flap is closed and the frequency converter will reduce extraction power.
- The system automatically switches on the filter at the beginning of welding of the first worker and switches off after finishing of welding of the last worker.
- The system is equipped with a cyclic flushing of pipes with maximum extraction power. The system opens all flaps at once and for about 1 minute will increase extraction power to maximum.
- The automatic flushing ensures pipeline cleaning from creating deposits.
- Extraction power control ensures energy savings ranging from 40-60% compared to the classic START → STOP.
