The village of Ryžoviště is located in the district of Bruntál in the Moravian-Silesian region. It is located about 20 km from Bruntál and 10 km from the town of Rýmařov. It lies at an altitude of 614 m and is part of the Rýmařov region in the northern foothills of Nízké Jeseník. The first written mention of the village dates back to 1317 and currently there are approx. 613 inhabitants.
The village has a lower grade elementary school with a gym, where children can attend various clubs, such as ceramics, dance, drama club, floorball and others. There is a kindergarten with a garden for children of preschool age. Citizens have at their disposal a children's playground, football and tennis courts, as well as a gymnasium with a climbing wall and a gym.
The village has a public water supply and gas supply system, and there is also a post office.
In the village you will find a church, an armory, a chapel, a small municipal museum and a pond.
