Flora Olomouc Exhibition Grounds, a.s., belonging to the leading Czech exhibition organizations, not only organizes gardening exhibitions and fairs, but also takes care of botanical gardens, city parks or collection greenhouses. The interesting and rich exhibitions are intended for visitors from the whole Czech and Slovak republic, as well as for foreign lovers of gardening fairs.
Every year we organize fifteen exhibitions and fairs of our own:
- one of the oldest ones (with more than half century tradition) is the FLORA OLOMOUC international horticultural exhibition with spring, summer and autumn period
- the grounds with four pavilions of a total exhibition area of 4.395 m2 offer an oportunity for organizing other exhibitions, social, cultural and sporting events.
- the exhibition grounds also take care of city parks, collection greenhouses, rosarium and a botanical garden.
The green exhibition area, situated in the very heart of Olomouc, belongs to the cultural and historical treasures of the city. History of the parks dates back to the twentieth years of the 19th century, when the Archbishop of Olomouc, Archduke Rudolf Jan of the Hapsburgs, founded the so-called "Rudolfova alej" (Rudolph's avenue). The size of the green circle formed by today's "Smetanovy sady", "Cechovy sady" and "Bezrucovy sady" (Smetana's park, Cech's park and Bezruc's park) has increased from the initial humble line of trees to more than 47 hectares. Attractive for the visitors are the collectopm greenhouses of the Exhibition Grounds (palm, cactus, tropical and subtropical ones) that are situated in the Smetana's park. The oldest and most valuable of them is the palm one, built between 1927 - 1930. Dozens of palm trees of various types, some older than a hundred years, grow here on the area of 1500 m2. Apart from the greenhouses the Exhibition Grounds also take pride in a botanical garden in the nearby Bezruc's park.
