Skrbeň Municipal Office.

The name of the village has an unknown origin, in the records
the following forms occur:
-latinsky-Scriben (1174), Skrbyn (1263)
-czech-Skrbeň (1438)
-German-Khurwein, Kirbein 1521, Kirwein 1771.

The area around the village has been inhabited since
the end of prehistory, was discovered
a continuous series of settlements since
Neolithic (Late Stone Age) until
period of the Great Moravian Empire (9th century AD).

The first written mention is from 1174,
when "Bishop Sedleck has no sons
donated the village of Skrben to the church of St. Wenceslas
In Olomouc".

In the 13th century, Skrbeň is in possession
several secular owners, ie
was sold by the church.
In 1263, Bishop Donon of
Hunched over and many more.
In the 14th century he owned the largest part
the village of Filip ze Skrbeně.
This property was bought in 1379 by the margrave
Jošt, another owner was Lacek z
Kravař, followed by Aleš and Václav z
Doloplaz.
Their descendants took an active part
Hussite wars, during which there was a village
spoiled several times.
In 1437, the village was sold to Ondřej
Znatovi z Ojnice.
During the wars of King George of Poděbrady with
by the Hungarian King Matthias, the village in
years 1481-1490 seized the city
Olomouc.

In 1531, Markéta of Ojnice bequeathed
Skrbeň to your grandson Jan z Hříště
(near Přibyslav).
He has since adopted the nickname
Skrbeňský, which his descendants enjoyed
still in the 20th century.

In 1574, the Skrbeň village was sold to Peter
Pražm from Bílkov, he then in 1579
for 21, 000 gold sold to the city
Olomouc, in whose possession it was located
until the abolition of serfdom in 1848,
when it became one of the separate
municipalities of the Olomouc district.

During the Thirty Years' War, Skrbeň was very important
she suffered.

a third of desolate houses.

The village was independent until 1980, until
1990 was under ongoing
integration of parts of Horka nad Moravou.
Today it is again an independent municipality.
