Obec Pencin


The village of Pěnčín (Prostějov district) is located 15 km northwest of Prostějov.
The area of the village: 532, 03 ha.
In 2001 the municipality has 271 houses.
In addition to the volunteer fire brigade is
active hunting company Hubert Pěnčín and fishing company - Local organization of the Moravian Fishing Union Konice Local group Pěnčín.
In the village there is an airport for ultralights, sports complex, sports club Pěnčín.
At the end of the 15th and the beginning of the 16th century it belonged
Pěnčín monastery of religious canons of Olomouc, later to the Laškovský estate. According to the ecclesiastical order, Pěnčín belonged to the Czech parish until 1784. In 1784 a special spiritual administration was established in Laškov, and Pěnčín was parochial to this and so it is still the case. The layout of the village is rectangular. The inhabitants mostly made their living from agriculture. In the lower part of the village is still a chapel dedicated
"Visitation of the Virgin Mary".
In 1869 it was begun to dismantle the hill Hrachůvky in the upper end in order to build a road through the village.
The road through the village of Hrachůvka was completed in 1891.
It will remain a memorial day on 16 January 1910.

a cemetery consecrated, despite the bad
weather with great public participation and surrounding villages.
Another significant period was the year 1926, when the first step towards electrification was made
municipalities by a resolution to connect to the network of Central Moravian power plants in Přerov.
The real electrification of the village began with installation works on 15 September 1927 a

public lighting.
There is also a primary school and a kindergarten in the village.
