The village of Čehovice is located approximately 8 km southeast of the district town of Prostějov on the junction of the district towns of Prostějov-Kroměříž. On the outskirts of the village flows the Vřesůvka River. The village consists of the cadastral area of Čehovice. Currently, 520 inhabitants live in the village, including 245 men and 275 women. The average age of the population is 39, 5 years.

The first mention of the village dates back to 1299 in connection with the names of the brothers Louis, Konrad and Herbor of Cehovice.

In 1358, Jan and Bareš of Čehovice exchanged Čehovice for farms in Stachová, and thus the village belonged to the Šternberk castle. In the 14th and 15th century. appears in the lists of different names for this village - Czichowicz, Czyhowicz, Cihovice.
In 1397, Peter of Sternberg died as a childless and Čehovice thus belonged to the legacy of the Kravaře family and then in 1490 sold to Ctibor Tovačovský. In 1503, the Tovačov estate, Čehovice and the mill of Vilém of Pernštejn were bought, since then Čehovice shared the fate together with the Tovačov estate until 1848.
