Obec Bohuslavice u Zlina

Bohuslavice Municipal Office near Zlín.

Bohuslavice near Zlín is located about 8 km from Zlín in the valley of the Březnice brook near Vizovice Hills, which is very elongated but not wide. It lies at an altitude of between 236 and 464 meters above sea level. The whole area is 805 ha, with 780 inhabitants and 251 houses built here.

The first written record of the village dates back to 1362 and since 1406 they were part of the Malenovice estate, while the establishment of the village itself was probably caused by colonization under John Henry, who owned the village.

The owners of the estate were Kryštof Karel Konický, Karel Libštejnský of the spinning wheel, Karel Maxmilián Thurn, Karel of Liechtenstein, etc. The estate belonged to the Šternberks until 1945.

Due to the mountain environment, the soil was stony and therefore there was little crop, which caused that the local inhabitants were mainly engaged in breeding goats, cows, sheep and other animals. In this poor region, the buildings were mainly functional and met the needs of the population.

It was not until 1926-35 that brick houses began to be built and the population expected better conditions, mainly because many of them started working in the company of Tomáš Baťa in Zlín.

After the First and Second World War, the village began to socialize and began to implement the social facilities of the village.
