Obec Holubice


The village of Holubice is located in the district of Vyškov in the South Moravian Region. It also includes the village of Kruh. Currently, approx. 1500 inhabitants.

The first written mention of the village dates back to 1371, but archaeological excavations prove that the village was inhabited as early as the Paleolithic. In 1930, during the construction of the house, a burial site with 77 buried Celts from the period 200 BC was found.

- Monument to the fallen from the world wars
- Monument to those who died in the Battle of Slavkov 1805 (unveiled in May 2003).

In the village there is a lower grade elementary school and a kindergarten. Children also have a sports field at their disposal. There is also a library in the village.
There is a Physical Education Association in the village, which has a sports hall at its disposal - there are teams of almost all age categories that play in district and regional competitions.
The Hunting Association, the Czech Association of Gardeners, the Fire Brigade and the Rural Youth Association Group are also active here. Local motorcyclists organize a traditional annual meeting of motorcyclists - the so-called Kanálova stoka, which is attended by motorcycle fans from abroad as well.
