Our village is located in the foothills of the Eagle Mountains in the district of Rychnov nad Kněžnou in the Hradec Králové region.
The first written mention of the village dates back to 1364. Currently, Semechnice has 437 permanent residents.
The village also includes parts of Kruhovka and Podchlumí.
The village has a built-in water supply and sewage system, there is a public library and there is also a playground.
There are also interest associations such as TJ Sokol Semechnice, Semechnice volunteer fire brigade, JCH rallye team Semechnice z.s., Myslivecký spolek Borky Trnov or Czech breeders' union, z.s.
There are picturesque forests around Podchlumí, Podchlumský rybník is built at the southern edge of the settlement, and Semechnický rybník is located west of Podchlumí.
