The village of Čermná lies in the foothills of the Giant Mountains at an altitude of 387 meters between the towns of Trutnov and Vrchlabí along the Čermná stream. The surrounding nature of Čermná makes it an interesting destination for both winter and summer trips.

The first written mention of the village dates from 1362 and currently has 400 permanent residents.

The village has built a public water supply, sewerage system with connection to a wastewater treatment plant and gasification. There is a grocery store, inn, guest house, post office and a cultural house.

Sports enthusiasts can use the local sports field, gym or sports facilities.

The dominant feature of the village is the church of St. Wenceslas from the 14th century.

The Volunteer Fire Brigade and the Hubertova Výšina Čermná MS also operate in the village.
