The town of Kosmonosy,
lies 55 km from Prague, north of Mladá Boleslav.
It has approximately 4, 100 inhabitants. It reached its greatest prosperity during the reign of the Černíns in the period 1650 - 1739. From that time we can see architectural gems, the dominant features of the town. They are: Loreta, chateau, Church of the Exaltation of St. Kříže. In the years 1637 - 1780, the Jelínek family, whose members worked as excellent carvers and sculptors, went deep into the history of the town. Their works are the culmination of the carving and sculptural art of the 18th century. In 1763, the Italian businessman Josef de Bolzo built one of the first textile manufactories in our country. In 1924, the industrialist Josef Svoboda started the production of popular tractors. Havel. The castle's mirror hall and Loreta's premises have become a popular venue for wedding ceremonies, occasionally concerts and theater events. The Altamira Children's Prehistoric Open-Air Museum is an important center of children's experimental archeology.
