The first mention comes from 1352 of Crysani villa (village Krisanova). In the 12th and 13th centuries, at the invitation of the Czech nobility, the Germans came to the region. They built here a number of villages and monasteries in a wide area. From the end of the 14th century. comes the name Suchá or Suchý. The name of the village has changed several times: Chrystorf, Griesdorf, Chrustot, Kryssdorf (1481) and Krinsdorf (1615). V 17.stol. became the name of Kriesdorf, which became the Czech name Křižany.
Krizany is located in Podjestedi about 10 km west of Liberec, on the road through Jested to Osecna. The village lies under the slopes of Ještěd-Kozákovský ridge on the Ještěd creek.
