Obec Janska

c. 83, Janska 405 02
The village of Janská is located in the Ústí nad Labem region about thirteen kilometers from the district town of Děčín, near Česká Kamenice, in a valley formed by the river Kamenice. The village is first mentioned in the Českokamenická town book from 1380.
The history of our village is rich, in the 19th century there were several textile factories, the village was very hard marked by the war years 1939-1945, when textile production ceased and was replaced by arms production. Several labor and prisoner of war camps were built in and around Janská, this period is mapped by the museum exposition located in one of the underground factories.
Janská is surrounded by the national parks České středohoří, Labské pískovce and Lužické hory, making it an excellent starting point for hiking and cycling.

Tourist attractions:
- Rabštejn Concentration Camp Museum (underground factory from World War II)
- Rabštejn Valley
- riding stable Vlčí ranč.

Although we are a small village, we organize a number of cultural and social events every year, the most popular of which is the fun event Janské vejčko.
