The village of Neradice, the original name of Neratovice, is first documented in writing from 1227. However, it probably existed much earlier. Thanks to the industrial revolution, Neratovice developed significantly in the second half of the 19th century. In 1865, the first train passed through the village on the Turnov - Kralupy line. During World War II, the Association for Chemical and Metallurgical Production began to build a large company for heavy chemistry here, where the production of viscose scrap began, especially in 1947. In 1950, an independent national company SPOLANA Neratovice was established. In 1975, the production of PVC began in Spolana.
On March 22, 1945 (around half past one in the afternoon) a raid was carried out on the city by the 15th Air Force. Of the 159 B-24 Liberator bombers that went from Všetat via Neratovice to Kralupy nad Vltavou, where the main target of the attack (mineral oil refineries) was, 28 planes dropped a total of 254 500-pound bombs on the city. The raid on the city was not directed in the first place, the reason for dropping the bombs was a technical defect and an error in navigation.
