Doksy is located in the Central Bohemian Region, about six kilometers southwest of Kladno. The Lodenický brook, called Kačák, flows through the village. In the past, quality sandstone was mined here, which was used for the construction of city walls, churches or town houses and was also used in the construction of some important Prague buildings such as St. Vitus Cathedral or Prague Castle.
The first mention of the village dates back to 1352 and mentions Doksy as a village on the Cheb road above the Lodenický stream, the first surviving written record is from 1385, when the fortress was held by Jan of Dokes and Chval of Doks.

The beautiful scenery of the surrounding nature is the remains of mining in quarries. The surrounding forests are ideal for hiking and recreation, there is a cycling path through the village and the Drvotova nature trail.
