The Příbram Mining Museum is one of the oldest museums in the Czech Republic. His professional activities follow on from the work of the former Landscape Museum in Příbram, which was founded thanks to the personal initiative of a local history researcher, head teacher Ladislav Malý, on 12 December 1886.

It is the largest mining museum in the Czech Republic in terms of area and number of exhibits.

The museum offers an extensive exhibition located in the historic buildings of Ševčinský, Anenský, Vojtěšské dol in Příbram, the Mint building in Nový Knín, the Museum of Village Buildings of the Middle Vltava in Vysoké Chlumec, the Březová Hora Mining Open-Air Museum and the Vojna Memorial (former prison facility from communist dictatorships.)

The exhibitions present to the public the history of local mining and metallurgy from prehistory to the present and introduce the ethnography of mining.

The rarest museum exhibits include the Vojtěšská shaft steam mining machine, the Anna mine steam mining machine, the General Štefánik mine compressor and the Drkolnov mine water wheel.

Mining open-air museum Březové Hory - shows the rich montane past associated with the mining of silver, uranium and other ores. The museum allows you to ride a mining train on the surface and underground, tours of several kilometers of galleries, elevator, ride on a slide to a giant water wheel, acquaintance with unique steam mining machines and an extensive mineralogical collection or mining folklore.

Památku Vojna Lešetice - Museum of the Victims of Communism and the History of Uranium Mining. Authenticly preserved prison complex, unique of its kind in Central Europe. The exhibitions introduce persecution after February 1948, anti-communist resistance and the history of uranium mining.

Museum of Village Buildings of the Middle Povltaví - The open-air museum preserves valuable monuments of rural architecture, which document the development of a folk house from the mid-17th to the beginning of the 20th century in the Central Bohemian Uplands and in the middle Povltaví, in an area affected by stone mining.

Museum of the Life of the Rural Population of the Middle Vltava: The museum's exposition in the Baroque granary, founded in 1770 by the Knights of the Red Star Crusaders, introduces the life of the rural population of the middle Povltava in the 19th to 20th centuries. The archaeological part of the exhibition presents the oldest history of the region associated with gold mining and processing, as well as the results of archaeological research of the Celtic town of Hrazana.

Nový Knín Gold Museum - The exhibitions present the history of gold mining and processing in the Novoknín region from the earliest times to the 20th century, the history of the city, local crafts and industry and the history of the World Gold Panning Championships in our country and abroad.
