The village of Tachlovice is located in the district of Prague-West in the Central Bohemian Region. Most of Tachlovice lies on the southern slope leading to the Radotín brook; part of the farms is also located on the right bank of the stream. At present, approx. 926 inhabitants.

The village of Tachlovice is a member of the Union of Municipalities in the Southwest region and the gateway to the Karlštejn region. The quarry Great America is located nearby.

The first mention of the village can be found in historical sources in 1234.

There is a Kindergarten and Elementary School in the village, a municipal library and social life is provided by the TOPAS, Scouts and Veteran Car Club associations. Children's and fishing day, Tachlovický courák, Dědeček's orchard and the Tachlovický triangle plant are well attended.

In the western part of the village grows white willow, the largest tree in the Czech Republic, which is protected by law.
