The village of Mezno is located in the district of Benešov in the Central Bohemian region. The municipality also includes the villages of Lažany, Mitrovice, Stupčice and Vestec. Currently, approx. 368 inhabitants. South of the village lies the natural monument Suchdolský rybník declared for the protection of the newt. The total cadastral area of the village is 1562 ha, of which fifty-four percent is arable land. A fifth of the cadastre of the village is planted with forest. A smaller part of the village area is also occupied by meadows (less than one third).
The first written mention of the village dates from 1469.
