The village of Chvalovice is located in the South Bohemian Region, 5 km southeast of Netolice in the district of Prachatice. Chvalovice is a member of the Netolicko microregion. The first mention of Chvalovice is connected with the colonization activities of the Cistercian monastery in Zlatá Koruna at the end of the 13th century.

The construction of lead mines, which were built around 1865 by the company Pierron and spol., was of considerable economic importance for Chvalovice. Our best large-scale graphite was mined in Chvalovice until 1950. In 1959, the mine was closed for mining.
