Obec Vranov


The village of Vranov is located in the district of Tachov in the Pilsen Region and consists of parts of Vranov and Svinná. At present, approx. 186 inhabitants.

The first written mention of the village dates from 1231. Before the First World War, there used to be a coal mine near the village, which was closed in 1914.

Sights of the village:
- Cross on the way to Butin
- a light fortification building (known as an aspen,
according to the Directorate of Fortification Works), built in 1937 (model 37) as part of the construction of a permanent fortification
- Hracholusky Reservoir - was built by building a spillway in 1959–1964 and flooding the picturesque valley of the Mže River.
