The village of Unín is located northwest of Brno, near the village of Drásov and the town of Tišnov.

Unín is an old village and stands on the site of the so-called Hradisko, whose local name has been preserved to this day, and from which the alodní dvór was created. The village was founded as a settlement probably in the 14th century. while the first written mention dates from 1341.

There are currently about 255 inhabitants living in the village.

In the village there is a building of a late Baroque church, which is dedicated to St. Peter and Paul.

Near the cadastre of the village there is the Čihadlo peak, the Trmačov castle ruins, the Stanivosko peak, and the Horka peak.

There is a library and a sports field in the village.

The village is accessible by bus transport.
