Central Military Hospital Prague (UVN)
is top ranked medical institution,

UVN Prague offers practically a whole
spectrum of medical care, except the
children medical practice, obstetrics
and cardio surgery.
The first place for ÚVN is urgent
medicine. Heliport that is situated on
the roof of the UVN pavilion provides
for recept of the patiens right from
the helicopter to the pavilon of the
hospitál. Heliport in UVN hospitál is
the only one in the Czech Republic,
fully technologically equip and able
to land down in the nights.
UVN Prague has five edutainment
practices as well; they are performing
highly professional and specialized
procedures and treatments, Most of
them in these areas:
-Department of Internal Medicine:
very specialized workplace, which
provides the bride scale of the
diagnostic and treating
performances, mostly in
gastroenterology and cardiology.
-Department for Neurosurgery: well
known leader in the research
and therapy of the brain
tumors. On February 2008, the Central
Military Hospital in Prague was
opened multifunctional operating room
with magnetic resonance imaging for
neurosurgical interventions. This
unique facility enables a surgeon to
visualize affected brain tissue to be
removed with high resolution on
millimetres. The multifunctional
operating room in the Central
Military Hospital is a unique
assembly of its kind. There are only
two similar facilities worldwide, in
Belgium and in Arizona.
-Surgical Department: specialized
in the liver and pancreatic
surgery.
-The Ophtalmological Clinic carries
out highly specialised outer and
inner-eye surgery with a
specialisation in cataract, glaucoma,
vitreoretinal operations and
transplantations (the Clinic operates
its own eye tissue bank), as well as
all types of laser treatment.
-The Otorhinolaryngological (ORL)
Clinic diagnoses outpatients and
treats them for otological,
otoneurological, rhinological,
endocrino-surgical and oncological
conditions. It is fitted with the
most modern technical equipment and
facilities in the whole of the Czech
Republic.
-The November 2005 was the day when
we have been used for the first time
the unique technology-robotic system
daVinci. Robotic surgery at the
current time is one of the
most focused fields of medicine.
We are proud of our department.
Urology has been declared as "The
most efficient robotic department in
the Czech Republic for the year
2006".
UVN Prague is training, teaching and
very specialized medical institution
of The Czech Military Forces, taking a
complete medical care for civilian
populations. It is analyzing and
solving preferably the medical
conditions of active soldiers and the
applicants.
UVN Prague professionally prepares
hospital attendants for their missions
and delegations of the Czech Army
abroad.
