The Chamber of Auditors of the Czech Republic (hereinafter referred to as the Chamber) is a self-governing professional organization established by Act No. 254/2000 Coll. for the purpose of administering the auditing profession in the territory of the Czech Republic. The chamber took over the rights and obligations of the chamber established under the previous legislation from 1992
The Chamber mainly performs the following functions:
maintains a list of auditors and a register of guest auditors,
maintains lists of auditing companies,
registers auditor assistants,
organizes audit exams or differential audit exams,
proposes and appoints half of the members of the examination board, while the other half is appointed by the Ministry of Finance of the Czech Republic,
issues a resolution on the performance of an audit examination or a differential audit examination,
issues a certificate of registration in the list of auditors and in the list of auditing companies,
supervises the proper provision of audit services,
issues national auditing guidelines in accordance with generally binding legal regulations and international auditing standards,
publishes the professional transcripts of the Chamber, in particular the Statute, Rules of Procedure of the Assembly, Election Rules, Contribution Rules, Disciplinary Rules, Code of Ethics, Supervisory Rules, Guidelines for handling complaints, Guidelines for the controlled practice of assistants, Guidelines for the continuous professional education of auditors,
publishes lists of auditors, including visiting and auditing companies entered in the Chamber's lists,
decides on the suspension of audit activity or on removal from the list of auditors or audit companies,
assesses requests for registration of guest auditors from EU countries and issues a certificate of guest auditor registration,
organizes educational events as preparation for passing the audit exam,
provides training for auditors, auditor assistants and the professional public,
organizes professional seminars and club evenings,
publishes the Auditor magazine and professional manuals for auditors,
ensures the sale of professional foreign publications,
cooperates with domestic and foreign professional organizations and state administration institutions,
is an active member of international professional organizations IFAC and FEE.
