Boskovice is located in the South Moravian Region, about 14 km north of Blansko. Surrounded by the beautiful forests of the Drahanská Highlands, Boskovice is located in the locality of the karst area and has therefore become a center of tourism and relaxation. The historic city center, including the ghetto, has been an urban conservation area since 1990. Other sights include a castle, chateau or evangelical church.
Boskovice as a market settlement was probably founded in the 13th century. the first written mention of the city itself dates back to 1413. Now there live 11 417 inhabitants.
