The village of Dlouhopolsko is located along the international road Prague - Hradec Králové in the eastern part of the former district of Nymburk (14 km from the town of Poděbrady and 11 km from the town of Chlumec nad Cidlinou). It has 220 inhabitants.

The nearest neighbors are Městec Králové to the north, Běrunice to the northeast, Kněžičky and the Kopičák settlement to the east, Žehuň to the south and Opočnice and Hradčany to the west.

Dlouhopolska lies in a gentle valley, which gradually turns into a low hill in the west. The village is almost completely surrounded by forests. In the east it is Vacinek, to the south and west Vypalený, Sviňský and Ve smrčkách. The named parts of the forests make up the Nature Reserve, which covers an area of 800 ha. The wreath of forests continues through Na bílyche forest and Račanský forest. In the south, the long ridge of Báňské hill closes the landscape. Its highest point, 267 m, is at the point where the Městec Králové - Kolín road reaches its peak. In the north lies the Holička forest.
