The village of Bohuňov, which also includes the villages of Bohuňov and Janovičky, is located in the northeastern part of the Vysočina region, in the Bystřicko microregion, 6 km northwest of the town of Bystřice nad Pernštejnem. Currently, approx. 270 inhabitants.
The first written mention of the village dates from 1384.
Both villages are situated in a slightly undulating landscape of highlands, Bohuňov at an altitude of around 620-630 m above sea level, Janovičky at an altitude of around 620-640 m above sea level. The border of the nature park Svratecká hornatina and the PLA Žďárské vrchy pass through the cadastre of the village.
Social organizations include a volunteer fire department and a hunting association (local hunters used to belong to the Lísek hunting association). From breeding, it is worth mentioning beekeeping, a pigeon breeder, a breeder of Main raccoon cats and horse breeding in Janovičky, related to local horse riding (at a semi-professional level).
For recreational sports activities, a football and tennis field is available on the eastern edge of Bohuňov.
