The village of Sazomín is located in the district of Žďár nad Sázavou on both banks of the river Oslava in the region of Vysočina.

It covers an area of 528 hectares and is located at an altitude of 528 m above sea level.

The first written mention of the village dates back to 1317. In the years 1961–1980, the originally independent village was part of Vatín and from July 1, 1980 to December 31, 1991, part of the town of Žďár nad Sázavou, after which Sazomín became independent again.

In the village there is a cultural center, an inn and also a multi-purpose sports field.

The Corps of Volunteer Firefighters also operates here.
