The village of Ždírec is located in the Vysočina region, about 6 km northeast of the town of Havlíčkův Brod.
The first written mention of the village dates from 1350. The total cadastral area of the village is 252 hectares and currently has 150 inhabitants.
In the village there is a small and large sports field, a library and a multi-purpose fire tank.
The village is electrified, gasified and has a sewer.
Cultural and social life in the village is largely provided by a volunteer fire brigade.
The village and the surrounding area offers opportunities for hiking, biking, cross-country skiing and in the summer months the collection of mushrooms and berries.
