The village of Bory is located in the district of Žďár nad Sázavou in the Vysočina region and lies approx. 10 km north of the town of Velké Meziříčí. The village is surrounded by extensive meadows and forests, and the Babačka stream flows through it, flowing into the river Oslava. The area around the village is known for its minerals, which are richly represented in a number of museums. Currently, approx. 764 inhabitants.

The first mention of the village can be found in historical sources in 1348. The village was founded on 1 January 1972 by the merger of Dolní and Horní Borů, which today also includes the Cyrilov settlement.

In the village there is the Hana Benešová Elementary School and Bory Kindergarten, the municipal library, the municipal museum, the Bory Hunting Association, the Bory Hunting Association, the Czech Union of Nature Conservators ZO Bory, the Young Nature Conservators Bobeš, TJ Družstevník Bory (football, table tennis), SDH Bory, the Czech Association of Gardeners + Beekeepers, the Roman Catholic Parish of Bory and others.

A red and yellow tourist sign and cycle route "Mlynářská stezka" lead through the village and through the village of Cyrilov cycle route 5240 Tasov-Křižanov-Radenice-Bohdalec. There are also beautiful terrains for lovers of cross-country skiing, including groomed trails, and trails for horse lovers.
