The first written mention of the village is dated 1414.
However, the date of establishment of the municipality cannot be documented.
In 1424, a fortress is mentioned in Velké Albrechtice, which indicates the possibility of the existence of a separate estate. In that year 1424, the owner of the estate, Jan z Kravař, registered a dowry here for his wife, the Opava princess Anežka. However, the village is certainly older, as evidenced by the remains of a medieval fortress (registered cultural monument), which can be roughly dated to the 13th - 14th centuries based on the ceramic fragments found. century.
In 1433, Jan z Kravař stopped the payment on Albrechtice to Václav Rús from Doloplaz, and in 1447 Jan z Doloplaz ceded part of Albrechtice to Mladot z Potštát. In 1464, the village was held by Markéta from Prusinovice, in 1476 by Jiřík from Koválovice.
The history of the village is marked by inheritance disputes over property and debts, and the village was often owned by several lords at the same time, the last owners were the Sedlnitzký family from Choltice, probably from 1651.
This family still has a family tomb in the local cemetery and their descendants live in Switzerland.
