The town of Tovačov is situated in the middle part of the Morava River in the heart of Haná. Thanks to its important strategic location, the town became an important crossroad of trade routes linked to the confluence of the Morava and Bečva rivers shortly after its foundation. The dominant feature of the town is the so-called Graceful Tower of the local castle. It reached its greatest prosperity during the 15th century, when the local estate was held by the Moravian provincial governor Ctibor Tovačovský of Cimburk. Tovačov currently has about 2, 500 inhabitants.
