The village of Morávka was established after 1615 along the upper reaches of the Morávka River and on the slopes of the surrounding hills. The first mention of the village dates back to 1636, when we find its name for the first time in the urbária of the Frýdek manor. The territory belonged
successively to the counts of Vrbno, the Oppensdorfs and finally the Pražms.
During World War II, citizens joined the fight against fascism and supported local partisans
group. In August 1968, the monument to Miloš Zetta "Night Passage" was unveiled in the village.
The village of Morávka was awarded in 1971 for anti-fascist resistance
Czechoslovak Peace Prize and was awarded the title Partisan Community.

In the years 1960-1966, a valley dam with a volume of 4, 500, 000 m3 was built on the Moravka River, serving as a source of drinking water
water for residents of nearby towns.
