The first written mention of the village dates back to 1305, when the village is listed in the list of tithes of the Bishopric of Wroclaw, so the village had to be established in the second half of the 13th century.
In the urbarium from 1636 is an interesting indication that most of the ponds from the Frýdek manor was in Sedliště.
There were 7 of them in the cadastre Sedlišť and also a mill.
For Sedliste and Sedliste it is undoubtedly the real gem - an ancient wooden church of All Saints built in 1638 on the site of an old wooden church from 1447. The church architecture is dominated by a massive quadratic tower with domes built above the main entrance. The church has a shingle roof. Around the main nave from outside is led "Saturday", covered gallery protecting the weather from the foundations of the church. The church is surrounded by a cemetery, which has not been buried for years, with a wealth of remarkable cast-iron crosses.
The cemetery is bordered by a wooden parkan fence with a saddle roof. Joža Vochal, a local history worker and founder of the Lašské Ethnographic Association Sedlišťané (1908), is buried in the cemetery.
Outside the cemetery area, behind the presbytery, there is a symmetrical folk sculpture of the Virgin Mary of Frýdecká and St. John of Nepomuk. It is perhaps one of the most charming
sculpture of Jan in Frýdek - Místek.
Both sculptures are placed on prismatic columns.
Museum Lašská jizba with gallery organizes regular art exhibitions.
Above the village there is a hill Baba, otherwise also Černá zem or Bezručova vyhlídka, where you can look at the panorama of the Moravian-Silesian Beskydy with Lysá hora and the Oder Hills.
On the occasion of the 10th anniversary of the Czech Republic, a monument was built here in the form of a plow to commemorate the abolition of robots.
