Raduň village is located 6 km southeast of the district town of Opava, in the valley of the brook Raduňka. Part of the cadastral area of the village is part of the Moravice Nature Park.
State road II / 464 passes through the village.
The first mention of the village dates back to 1322. Its position on the "Amber Trail" contributed to its strategic importance, which is evidenced by the gradual construction
of the fortress and chateau to its present form. The chateau is surrounded by a chateau park, which is one of the most important natural landscape areas of the Moravian-Silesian Region.
The system of three chateau ponds along with the romantic meanders of Raduňka is unique in our region.
The state chateau in Raduni was opened to the public after extensive repairs in 1984.
Other cultural monuments located in the park include the valuable Empire building orangery, renovated in 2004, farmhouse granary from the 18th century sheepfold - Empire building from 1841. In the center of the village is the parish church of the Holy Trinity - single-nave architecture from the late 16th. century and a baroque building from the second half of the 18th century, a unique type in the Opava region, former chateau laundry.
The village manages the catchment elementary school, which includes a tennis court, a multipurpose playground (available for rent) and an adjacent park for children. In the village there is a post office, a general practitioner and a dental practitioner, 2 grocery stores, 2 restaurants, gardening, a bakery, a nursing and sister agency OASA and a number of small business owners.
North of the village is a system of ponds. Behind the lowest of the ponds is probably the oldest tree on
Opavsko, about 400 years old oak with a trunk circumference of 6 m.
