Kobeřice is one of the oldest villages in the Opava district. It is located to the north-east, about 15 km from Opava, in the Silesia region.
It is situated in the valley of Bílý potok at an average altitude of 251 meters above sea level.
The north-western part of the cadastre forms part of the border with Poland.
At the beginning of 2000, the village had 3224 inhabitants, 784 descriptive numbers, 717 residential buildings and 2 secluded central yards and counterfeits.
The area is over 1700 ha and the land is mainly used for agricultural purposes.
A new surface gypsum mine was opened in the northwestern part of the land in 1962.
As part of education there is a primary school in the village with a gym and a multipurpose sports complex. There are also two kindergartens and an elocated class of the Hlučín Elementary Art School for teaching piano and singing.
The municipal and parish library is regularly opened
The medical service is provided by seven specialist doctors.
The supply of citizens is provided by a network of 24 shops of private owners and companies.
There are four inns in the village and there are several building, plumbing, joinery, electrical and other companies.
Connection to large cities, Opava and Ostrava, is provided by regular bus service, as there is no passenger rail transport in the village.
