Brantice village is located southwest of Krnov, which is immediately adjacent. The Brantice Highlands, which fall into the mountains of Nízký Jeseník, stretch across Brantice.
The first mention of the village is from 1222, when Margrave Vladislav Henry donated the village to Chamberlain Bernhard. During the division of the Principality of Opava in 1377, Brantice, which was received by fief Vejkart of Brantice as a fief, fell to the Principality of Krnov. The owners then changed quickly.
Chancellor Jeroným Reinwald, who acquired the village in 1561 from prince Jiří Bedřich of Krnov, built a chateau in the 1670s in Brantice instead of a dilapidated fortress, already mentioned in 1449. Another owner, Bohumil Tracha of Březí, started the reconstruction of the chateau in 1711, which was continued by other owners, especially Count Zikmund Josef of Khuenberg, who bought Brantice in 1802. In 1901, the Brantice Lichtenstein family acquired it.
Radim belonged to Brantice estate in 1485-1848. After the abolition of the estate as administrative units, Brantice belonged to the district of Krnov since 1850. As a result of the wars in the 15th and 17th centuries, this heavily devastated area was inhabited mainly by German settlers and gained a predominantly German character. The change occurred after 1945, when the village was inhabited by Czech citizens from the interior.
