Obec Lipinka

The foothill village with 211 inhabitants is located in the northeastern part of the micro-region on the border of the Úsov Highlands. It is surrounded on all sides by deep forests and beautiful nature. It is protected from the north by the memorable mountain Bradlo and Cat Rock, from the west by the sharp mountain and from the south by the hill Skalka and the forest Kárník. The first mention of the small village Lipinka, whose name was derived from the old Czech word lime tree (linden trees), probably dates back to 1371. The settlement was part of the Ústí estate, its inhabitants mostly earned their living by logging from the surrounding forests, burning charcoal and later brooms, tackle and sieve. In poor families, they often made money from flax weaving. Anyone visiting Lipinka today will be pleasantly surprised. This picturesque village, hidden in the hills and surrounded by unspoiled nature, is today a popular cottage area. For beautiful views, pure nature and interesting tourist sites (Bradlo Hill, Cat Rocks) is a popular destination for hiking and cycling trips.
