The Professional Theater in Zlín was founded in August 1946 under the name of the Workers' Theater. Since this year, he has been continuously co-creating the history of Czech theater and is one of its most progressive stages. The artistic credit of the Zlín Theater is appreciated by professional critics and the audience alike, it is an institution where Czech and Slovak artists meet.
The Zlín Municipal Theater serves as a multifunctional cultural stand. In a number of non-repertoire activities, the organization of the Setkání - Stretnutie festival stands out, which is a show of original dramatic and staging work, especially of Czech and Slovak theaters.
The work of the artistic ensemble was awarded three individual Thalia Awards, the Audience Award associated with the Alfred Radok Awards as well as the Audience Award for the best production of the Czech Theater 2009 show.
The Zlín Municipal Theater with a capacity for almost 700 spectators offers at least 10 premieres a year, you can enjoy classical dramas, musicals and chamber plays.
