Mesto Breclav

namesti T. G. Masaryka 42/3, Breclav 690 02
The South Moravian town of Břeclav can be found on the Dyje River near the borders with Austria and Slovakia. The history of the territory of today's city goes back to prehistoric times, when the nearby Pohansko was an important Great Moravian fort. In the 11th century Prince Břetislav I founded a border castle here, which became one of the most important administrative centers of Moravia. In the 16th century the town belonged to the Žerotín family and then to the Liechtenstein family. The decisive point in the development of the city was the introduction of the railway in 1839 and the subsequent construction of a railway junction, which is still an important international railway junction.
