The proven age of the village dates back to the 11th century, but the first mention comes from 1656.

When you arrive in Nový Šaldorf - Sedlešovice, you will actually visit two villages: Nový Šaldorf and Sedlešovice. All these villages - now parts of one village - were established on ford across the Dyje River, which separates the current Nový Šaldorf - Sedlešovice from the town of Znojmo.
Nový Šaldorf - Sedlešovice is an excellent tourist destination: you can stay here without problems (in a hotel, guesthouse or camp), refresh yourself in the renowned wine restaurant Vinný restaurant Blanka. The 180 wine cellars mentioned above testify to wine tasting and seating possibilities. The village is a good starting point for cycling, hiking (near the Podyjí NP) and car tourism (nearby border crossing in Hnanice to Austria).
