The town of Chotěboř is located in the western region of the Bohemian-Moravian Highlands at an altitude of 515m. The landscape at the foot of the Iron Mountains is particularly characterized by a clean environment and is suitable for hiking, cycling and recreation. In particular, the part of the Doubrava river valley between Chotěboří and Bílek with its canyon-like valley is a sought-after tourist area.
