The village of Hvozd is located in the Central Bohemian Region about 6 km southwest of the town of Rakovník. The village is situated at an altitude of 484 m above sea level and has an area of 3.67 km2. It consists of two parts Hvozd and Žďár. The first written mention of the village Hvozd comes from 1352. At present, 170 inhabitants live here.
