The village of Březová-Oleško is located in the Praha-západ district in the Central Bohemian region above the right bank of the Vltava. Currently, approx. 1300 inhabitants. The municipality of Březová-Oleško consists of two parts (Březová and Oleško), which lie on two cadastral territories.

The first written mention of both parts of the village (Březová and Oleško) dates from 1310, when Pope Clement V confirmed their ownership to the island monastery.
