The village of Ústrašice is located in the district of Tábor in the South Bohemian Region and the Maršovský stream flows through it.
The first written mention of the village dates from 1405. In 1630 it was annexed to the Bechyně estate, then it belonged to the Lobkovices and Hozlauer family.
At present, the village covers an area of 740 hectares and has 391 permanent residents.
There is a volunteer fire brigade in the village, there is a cultural facility and a playground.
The picturesque South Bohemian landscape stretches in the vicinity and the Turovecký Forest Nature Park is located to the northeast.
