The town of Blovice is located in the district of Plzeň-jih, 25 km southeast of Pilsen. We have the first written report about Blovice from 1284, when they were a market village belonging to the Cistercian monastery in Pomuk. The historical core of the city is the square, where one of the most striking buildings is the town hall building built in 1825 and rebuilt in pseudo-Renaissance form in 1893. The monuments include the church of St. John the Evangelist, which was built in the years 1760-1767 in the Baroque style. In Blovice, there are also several listed buildings. They are late classicist gabled houses on the square no. 23 and 24, and in Hradišťská street there are empire-style houses no. 148 and 149. Hradiště Castle, which currently houses the Museum of South Pilsen, was built on the site of a former fortress in the 18th century to its present form it was rebuilt in the pseudo-Gothic style in 1873. There is also an English park near the castle, the present appearance of which comes from alterations in 1873.
