Mesto Stary Plzenec


The town of Starý Plzenec is located 9 km southeast of the center of Pilsen in the valley of the river Úslava between Radyní and Hůrka. According to archaeological finds, this place has been inhabited since the 5th millennium BC. The first written record dates back to 976 and the victorious battle of the Czechs with the Bavarians under the "iuxta Pilisini urbem". The most important monuments of the city include the ruins of Radyně Castle and the rotunda of St. Peter and Paul.
