Obec Zastavka

Hutni osada 14, Zastavka 664 84
Member of the KAHAN microregion.

Zastávka was officially founded in 1875 in connection with hard coal mining and was originally called the Divine Blessing. After the establishment of Czechoslovakia was renamed to Zastávka. That was the name of the inn, which stood at the crossroads of two medieval trade routes. In its place today stands Mining House.

The first written record of the discovery of coal around Zastávka dates back to 1769. The mining itself began 18 years later and lasted almost 180 years. The development of mining was helped by the local ironworks and one of the first local railways in the Czech lands, which was built between Brno and God's Blessing in 1852-1855. The stop became the center of mining life.

The village today has 2, 5 thousand inhabitants and there is a rich federal life. Both Čechie and Sokol, as well as the fire brigade, have a long tradition. The history of the village inherently includes education, which began to develop since 1865. That is why the village has a book as a symbol of education and training.
