Veverské Knínice lies on the border of the Boskovice furrow and the Křižanovská Highlands, about 20 km west of Brno. It is situated at an altitude of 334 m above sea level and its area is 1016 hectares. The first written mention of the village dates back to 1234. The name of the village over the ages changed its appearance. In 1947 the village was given the current name Veverské Knínice. Today, 936 people live here.
