The village of Malhostovice and part of Nuzířov is situated on the border of the Bohemian-Moravian Highlands and the Moravian Karst in the Brno-Venkov District of the South Moravian Region. It is located 21 km northwest of Brno and is part of the ORP Tišnov, which consists of a total of 59 municipalities.
The village is situated on the eastern edge of the ORP and is separated from the town of Tišnov by a distance of 7.8 km. There is a bus connection in the village to Tišnov and Brno, the nearest railway station is in Čebín, 3.5 km away.
The first mention of the village dates back to 1320, and the first mention of the local part of Nuzířov dates from 1349. The village was partly a fief of the lords of Pernštejn and partly of the lords of Lomnice. Nuzířov belonged, among other things, to the estate of the lords from Černá Hora. The village is located in a floodplain and on the left bank of the Lubě stream. Both merged parts of the village are distinctly agricultural in nature, and the landscape type belongs to the undulating foothills of the Bohemian-Moravian Highlands.
