The Faculty Elementary School at the Faculty of Pedagogy of the Charles University, Prague 13, Brdičkova 1878, started its activities on September 1, 1986. Since 1990, the school has been cooperating with the Faculty of Education of the Charles University in Prague, and on March 24, 1994, we were selected and appointed as the Faculty Elementary School. We are currently cooperating with the Faculty of Education of Charles University in the preparation of future teachers. Their students carry out teaching practice at our school, or carry out their research required for a diploma thesis
The school consists of one panel two-story building, which consists of five parts. We have 55 classrooms here, 17 of which are vocational. Among the most interesting specialist classrooms are three computer classrooms, one of which is intended for teaching foreign languages, and 20 classrooms with interactive whiteboards. Pupils use four gymnasiums and a playground with an artificial surface for physical activities. During the winter season, it is possible to visit the artificial or natural ice surface located near the school as part of physical education. During breaks in good weather, students can use the school's atrium.
The school has its own ceramic workshop. Kindergartens also use it in the morning, and in the afternoon and evening, not only our school's students and their parents work in circles here, but we also meet our fellow citizens from the ranks of parents and grandparents.
There is a tea room in the school building in the afternoons, which serves not only our pupils, but also people from around the school as a pleasant meeting place.
The school group is located in pavilion A. The group has 7 departments and is led by 7 teachers. It is open in the morning from 6:30 a.m. and in the afternoon until 5:30 p.m.
Two separate canteens are used for school catering – for I. grade and for II. degree. In 2017, the canteens and school kitchen underwent an extensive renovation. During normal school hours, diners have the option to choose from 2 meals.
